In my early years, I was an Olympic Athlete, Team Manager, and a Small Business Owner in elite sport.
Alongside my corporate and academic achievements, my athletic career as an Olympic bobsleigh champion and pilot adds a distinctive dimension to my profile. More than a decade in high performance sport gave me deep, first-hand insight into elite performance cultures, team dynamics, and the psychology of excellence - insights that continue to shape my approach to optimizing organiszations and indivuduals.
From 1985-1994, I led and piloted my own bobsleigh racing team, taking responsibility for all performance defining factors. Sustained success required:
(a) developing the mental and physical capabilities to compete at the highest level,
(b) recruiting, training, and leading a high-performance team,
(c) designing, manufacturing, or sourcing world-class equipment,
(d) building a professional environment with qualified mechanics and sport science experts, and
(e) securing long-term financing through corporate sponsorships.
Through systematic competitor analysis and disciplined resource optimization, my team delivered excellence year after year. Our success was built on meticulous preparation, mutual trust, precise execution, and strong resilience - in moments of triumph as well as in challenging times. These principles continue to inform my understanding of sustainable performance of teams and organizations.
My sporting achievements include four Olympic medals, among them gold in the two-man bobsleigh at the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville and the 1994 Games in Lillehammer - results that made me the most successful Swiss bobsleigh pilot in Olympic history. They are complemented by multiple World and European Championship titles and overall World Cup victories - all achieved with equipment I designed and built myself.
Beyond the titles, I value the genuine friendships formed during my athletic career, and I am grateful that all members remained uninjured throughout our years of competition.
